:) Frequently Asked Questions

:: What is Hellogoodtimes?
    Since August of 1999, we've been asked this question. Hellogoodtimes is a celebration of friends, family, travel and
    everything that makes us happy. We try to share with you the best the world has to offer, from books to destinations to
    drinks. It has grown into a community of Global Explorers always willing to try someting new and share their experiences.

    We've been fortunate enough to have wheathered the dot-com bust and we haven't had a single layoff!

:: What is in a Smooth Colombian?
    1/4 Rum (light), 1/4 Kahlua and 2/4 OJ. Shaken, not stirred, of course.

:: What is Clam Chowder?
    When someone repeats something already mentioned earlier in the conversation.

:: What is Corn Chowder?
    When someone brings up something completely out of the blue, aka. non-sequitur.

:: What is Fish Chowder?
    Only two people have managed to accomplished this great feat, to do a Clam AND a Corn Chowder: Sean O. and Jen M.
    (both from Boston, MA) are the only two people in the world that have been able to do this.

:: What is a Manhattan Chowder?
    When you start telling a story to a group of people and in the middle of telling it, you decide to strike a conversation with
    the person next to you. The person who first did this in NYC is a bit embarrassed, so he'll remain nameless, but lets just say
    ABBA has a song with his name...

:: Is Close-Drinking spreading throughout the nation?
    Yes. Here is the latest evidence.

    Send us YOUR close-drinking pictures and we will post them here.

:: What is an "Indian Drinker"?
    There is the well known indian giver, who gives a present to later take it back. An Indian Drinker brings a bottle of wine
    (preferably a South African pinotage), offers it as a gift to the host -and then proceeds to drink it all.

:: What is "Barbary Coast"?
    This great drinking adventure game was inspired by San Francisco's Gold Rush days. Much like being a pirate on an
    adventure, you can end up with the pirate booty -or with a wooden leg and an eye-patch- one never knows! It is a great
    way to explore new areas/bars giving a cure to the dreaded "Where are we going tonight?" followed by a blank stare and
    ending in the usual watering hole.
    Basic rules:
    First person on deck selects a drinking venue, selects a drink and pays for said round of drinks and transportation to the
    venue. The game continues in rotation order with the next person selecting venue, drinks, et cetera. One can go across the
    street, or across town. One can even go BACK to a place already visited, stunt recently pulled in brilliant manner by a
    Daniel F. (aka Play'a). It usually ends in tears and/or renewed promises of never drinking again - and getting a new
    set of friends!
    Additional rules:
    You gather at a pre-determined location (in San Francisco it's Tosca) and the last person to show up at the appointed time
    pays for the first round.
    If the place someone has chosen is closed (or out-of-business), one 'walks the plank' and on the next round that person
    has to pay for two drinks.
